NASA released a pretty impressive satellite picture of the fires in SoCal.
These shots were taken yesterday. The winds (Santa Ana winds) are blowing from the deserts.
When that happens, and it is usually the case from September to February,
everybody is downwind so everything from Santa Barbara to Mexico is in the smoke right now, including me (I live at the black x on the small shot). |
Southern California is burning down. These are pictures of the brush fire close to Fontana,
it started 3 days ago. It is moving up the mountain hill towards the San Bernardino National forest. The fire lights the night sky even though I am 30 miles away from it. There is another one pretty close to my place in Moreno Valley. Cannot see it from my balcony but can definitively smell it! |
