It is just the beginning of may and the southern California hillsides are already very dry and completly yellow. Last year it was green till June. This is the result of a pour rainy season (December to March) this year and record temperatures last week (over 100F). The fire season started 3 weeks earlier than normal this year.

Experts say this year may very well be a repeat of last year...
